Clinical API Integration Tool

Description

Developed components for a national clinical record transfer system, enabling secure movement of patient records between primary care systems. Worked closely with multiple GP system suppliers to implement and validate message workflows, including automated retrieval of patient records via vendor APIs and HL7-based messaging.

Built a desktop integration tool that queried clinical systems for patient data, downloaded structured records to a designated location, and exported associated clinical documents for downstream processing. Supported multiple communication protocols including SOAP, REST-style HTTP requests, and legacy TELNET interfaces. The project focused on healthcare interoperability, secure data exchange, and ensuring reliable end-to-end transfer of clinical information across diverse system providers.
